Hmmm. I think we have that in spurts every time a new book comes out, or any time one of the regulars suddenly has a point to make. I monitor the input, and try to participate, but my time is kind of limited -- a daughter in college, a son about to go off to college, etc. -- and deadlines to meet. Maybe we should leave things the way they are for the moment. It' certainly something to think about and even plan for, though! -----G-----

Jade--if you're still checking this thread!--and others who like the idea of a book discussion:

With Gordon Korman's newest title about to have its "book birthday"--MIXED UP comes out July 18!--what would you think about a casual book group on the Forum to share thoughts while reading along together?

I'm thinking something along the lines of discussing one chapter per day until the book is finished. If we were to start on Saturday 29 July, it would give everyone time to pre-order the book or pick it up from the bookstore and read the first chapter. Each week, people could participate whenever they're able to go online, discussing any of the chapters up to the present date. The only rule is to limit comments to chapters already covered and not jump ahead!

Based on 32 chapters: At one daily chapter, we would reach the end on Tuesday 29 August. (This is just a suggestion... maybe people would want to make it two chapters per day or some other reading rate so the whole book is complete before the school year starts up.)

If GRK is comfortable with that and Jade would like the honors of starting the discussion, I can promise to take part (and maybe get a couple others to join in as well).

Do I need to be a member to be in the group? Is it ok if i'm in NSW Australia. Some times American books are'nt sold here but is it ok if I read an ebook instead? :)

Hi, Jena. If other fans are interested and a MIXED UP "book club" gets created as a Forum thread, anyone reading the book and wanting to share their thoughts would automatically be a member. Since the conversation occurs in written comments, the time difference wouldn't matter. (And I'm a big fan of e-books, too!)
