I really liked your books Swindle and Framed. They were both about animals, and suspenseful which is what I enjoyed the most. I like your books!

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that you've been reading and enjoying a couple of my books. There are 8 altogether in the SWINDLE series, so I hope you'll want to read on. And I hope you'll go on to many more -- there are presently 101 titles on my long list!

Thanks for posting.

I became an author strictly by accident in 7th grade. Our teacher asked for what he called "a novelette." What he probably wanted wa a story a little longer than the average composition. I got carried away and quite accidentally wrote a school story about 2 friends that I called "BRUNO AND BOOTS." When the class really liked it, I asked my Mom to type it for me, and we sent it to Sholastic, the children's book publisher. They liked it too, and it became THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL, my first book. That was over 40 years and 100+ books ago, and I'm still at it!

So that's how it's done. First: write a book. Who knows? It might turn out for you the same way it did for me! Good luck.

Complicated question. I can tell you what I did. I had a book, and prepared it, typed, double-spaced, one side of the page only, and sent it to a publishing company (Scholastic) for their approval. I was prepared to have it returned and rejected, but I had hopes for the work. As it turned out, they liked it, purchased the rights from me, and that's how I've been published ever since. I have several publishing houses, and a literary agent, and they look after the business end of it for me.

There is also a thing called self-publishing, which I have never done. There are companies that provide all the services you need, and you pay them to edit, prepare, and publish your book for you. I don't know anything about how such a self-published book is distributed through booksellers, etc, but I think those companies offer that service as well.
