Hello Mr. Korman!

I am Fabiana Salgado, a fourteen-year-old Mexican, published author with three books on Amazon. I'm writing to you about this third one in hopes of advice/opinions from a much more experienced author than I. S.C.R.I.B.E. might not really be up your alley, but I've read so many of your books, including the Unteachables and Ungifted, you know the drill, during the pandemic. This book is about superheroes with Percy Jackson kind of vibes. I'd also like your advice on marketing if possible; my dad and I are on my own, and my dad obviously works. I want the message of Scribe to get out there; I have big plans for the future, especially since it's a series. If you've read this far down, thank you, and please let me know if I can send you a physical copy.

Hi, Fabiana,

First of all, congratulations on your success! Superheroes may not be my thing, but I do enjoy Percy Jackson and I would probably enjoy your SCRIBE too. The thing is that I have had to make it my policy not to read work that other writers send to me. I get so many requests that it would interfere with my own work. Also, it would be unfair to accept material from one person and turn down another. So sorry, but no can do.

Marketing. I have never self-published, but do I assume that you do? If so, go to your library and get a copy of WRITERS' MARKETS. That book, or any of the ones like it, list all the publishers that issue material in the English language. Find a listing that sounds like the stuff you've been writing, compose an introductory letter,and send them a copy (or copies) of your book(s). Perhaps even include something new and, as yet, unpublished. The worst they can do is say No, thanks. Then you try someone else. I feel that you need a publisher because they are the ones who deal with marketing. It takes a big outfit to do a good job in publicizing you and your work. You might also benefit from the talents of a professional editor. They are, as a rule, very talented people.

At least that's what worked for me.
