I am a middle school teacher in the Chicago suburbs, and my class just finished Restart. My last class discussion question was pertaining to why you decided to end the novel with Brendan's viewpoint. We wanted to reach out and ask you the reason.

Thanks for posting. I hope the class enjoyed RESTART.

Good question! How's this answer? Chase improved on the person he used to be, and that made things better for everyone. But only someone else could have that perspective. That someone was Brendan, who had been afraid of the old Chase and had now made a friend of the new Chase. I felt that only someone who observed the whole thing could end the story. Plus Brendan was the character who took the bullying story and made it "lighter." He was the rlght person to put a period to the whole thing.
