Hello Gordon Korman, I want to let you know that I have been a BIG fan of your books since my junior year of high school (I am 18 and a college freshman now as of this writing). I remember finding about your work one day when my English class took a trip to the school library and we were looking for pleasure reading books for us to read. I picked up a book called Swindle and I thought the plot sounded entertaining. I then became hooked on your books, starting with the Swindle series. I LOVED the antics the characters go through and the plans they come up with (especially with Griffin Bing) in order to accomplish what they think is right, even when the plans land them in trouble! What is really cool is that it seems like once Griffin has a plan going, he is committed to follow through with the plan and NOTHING can stop Griffin and his crew, not even a bulldozer or wrecking ball!

In addition, I am on the autism spectrum and one of my main interests is automobiles. I know this is sort of a minor detail, but I really appreciate that you mention real-life car brands and models in a lot of your books (for example, how you write "Jeep Wagoneer," "Mercedes-Benz" or "Volkswagen Beetle" instead of simply writing "car" or "SUV"). I feel like it is details like that makes the story sound more realistic in my opinion.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a nice day! Please keep up the great work; I enjoy the stories! =)

    Best, Nathan J.

Good observation about cars, Nathan Joseph. Have you read The Unteachables? A specific car in that book plays a big role in the story.

In fact, several of Gordon Korman's titles feature automobiles in a big way--and many of those vehicles get nicknames. Some of my favorites were the Camaro in Losing Joe's Place, the 1968 VW Beetle in Son of Interflux, and the white van in No Coins, Please.  (I won't give any more details that would ruin the surprises when you read these books.)

    Great choices, Raymond.

I was always partial to Mike Otis's ride in Don't Care High.

Hello Raymond J., I apologize for the late response. I have infact read the Unteachables and it was a great book! I read it towards the end of my Senior year in high school. I loved the plot of the story; it was about a teacher who seemingly didn't care about teaching, however that would later change as the story progressed. I also loved the Chrysler Concorde that was given a funny nickname (I won't give it away here because I don't want to give away any potential spoilers) and was a big part of the story.
