Dear Gordon Korman,

My name is Jheik. I am an 8th grader in middle school. We just finished reading Swindle. I loved when the skate park was built next to the museum. I did not like it when Mr. Palomino tricked the boys for one hundred twenty dollars. I relate to Griffin because I always make plans. I read that you wrote your first book at 12 years old. That was impressive! I would love to know why you wrote the book Swindle? Where did your ideas come from? I love this book and can’t wait to continue reading the series.

Thanks for posting.

My ideas come from plain old hard work, and a lot of thinking and plotting. No big mystery -- it's just work. Why did I write SWINDLE? Writing is my job. I do it for a living. I wrote it for my audience, which is a worldwide group of middle graders just like you. I hope you'll go on to read many more of my books, perhaps starting with the other books in the SWINDLE series.
