Dear Mr. Korman

Hi

My name is Blake I’m 10 years old and I like to read. When my aunt got me restart she was telling me how great of a book it was and when I read it I was totally blown away. Your book is the best book I have ever read. Your book really shows how someone can change. Another reason Restart is really good is when the fire extinguisher thing happened I felt pretty bad for Chase and had to remind myself this is a book and it never happened. I feel like that really shows how people can connect to the characters like Mr. Solway Shoshanna or Brendan and Joel. I also think it makes it really interesting when he got kicked out of the video club. I would love if this got turned into a movie and the reason why is because its funny interestingand so much more.

Thanks, Blake. I'm pleased that RESTART went over so well with you. There is a film company presently working very hard on trying to put a movie together, so let's keep our fingers crossed! We may see a RESTART movie one day.

We just finished reading Restart.  I have an idea for a sequel.  I would like to see what happens with Chase and Shoshanna dating as they grow up and as Chase is the Star of the football team as well as the video club. Possibly drafted to NFL? See what college he goes to?   I would also like to know how Brendan and Kimberly are doing as they are dating also.

Thanks for posting. Your curiosity about the future of the characters means that I must have done something right in creating the story! You're interested, like you want to know how things turn out for them.

That would involve me moving from Middle Grade to Y/A, which is not something I'm doing at the momnt. But thanks for the vote of confidence in believing I can do a good job of it.  Maybe one day. I would never say never.

I love the book Restart because it can reflect how you can act in the book and that reader could have so many predictions of what will happen next and that is what I love about the book, I also love the ways that Chase found out who he was and which way he took. Hello,

I love Restart. It’s honestly one of the best books I have ever read. (And I’ve read a lot of books). I like how funny and realistic it is, and how it’s sort of a mystery (especially if you’re reading it for the first time), because it reveals Chase’s past as you go through the book. I also like how the characters have such detailed personalities, instead of just being there, and not doing anything. I like Brendan, because he makes funny videos and just is funny in general, and how he really believed Chase didn’t mean to give Joel a black eye, and didn’t just think, “Well, Chase went with Aaron and Bear’s lie about the electrical fire, so je must be the the one in the wrong here, right? It’s not like Chase tried to keep the extinguisher away from Aaron and Bear by holding on to it! We’re just gonna believe Aaron and Bear, the ones we know we can’t trust, and assume those two are right about Chase planning the ambush. Oh, what was that? When would he have time to plan it? Don’t ask me! I’m going to continue to assume Chase is the bad guy here!” It shows that Brendan really believed in Chase, and guess what? He was right. I also thought it was funny when Shoshanna argued with Joel in chapter twenty-six about how “stupid” Chase is, and says she’d put him through a wood chipper “if she were in charge of the world”. (It’s actually one of my favorite parts). I just love how funny and interesting Restart is. (I’ve memorized the first page.)
