I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you with a special request that will significantly impact the reading enthusiasm of my students.

As a librarian at a public middle school, one of my main goals is to foster a love for reading among students during their transition from childhood to adolescence. It's a rewarding yet challenging endeavor, and I am constantly exploring new ways to hook students into books and keep them reading.

Recently, I've discovered that students respond exceptionally well to videos featuring authors discussing the plot and the intended message of their books. This personal touch from the author's perspective seems to deeply resonate with them and ignites their curiosity enough to explore various books.

Unfortunately, finding short (3 minutes or less) accessible videos of this nature are extremely hard to find. Therefore, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request: Would you be willing to create a short video about your book Slugfest that I can share with my students? Your insights into the themes and characters of your book would not only enrich their understanding but will also inspire them to read more.

Please rest assured that I will not share, post, or sell your video; it will be used solely for educational purposes within our school community.
