Hello! I'm currently teaching The Unteachables (the book, not my class ^.~ ) and had an interesting question pop up about Aldo. We looked up what Zagnuts are since we hadn't heard of them. One of my kids pointed out that it was odd for Aldo to be so in love with them. Zagnuts are covered in coconut, and Aldo just proclaimed that he hated coconut!

This got my class very curious! Some felt that Aldo might be okay with toasted coconut, but not regular coconut. and others thought Aldo was just making up excuses to be angry at the vending machine 🤣 Either way, the curiosity won out--Why does Aldo like Zagnuts so much when they're covered in coconut?

Well, you got me! That's no small feat! There are hundreds of thousand of copies of THE UNTEACHABLES out there, and your class is the only one that noticed my big mistake. Fact is, I had no idea what Zagnuts was made of -- I just liked the name. And now I'm going to have to change the name of the candy for the next printing and admit I made a mistake. And so did the editor. And the copy editor. Ouch!
