Dear Mr Korman,

Your book NOTORIOUS is by far the best book I have ever read. I love the surprise when you learn who the real person who killed Barney and robbed Zeebee’s house is. The plot twist and the way Zeebee fits in at the end is amazing. It makes me want to read even more books like this! I am currently reading LINKED and am trying to read all of your published books.

Thanks for posting. I'm glad NOTORIOUS made such a good impression on you. I hope you'll go on to read many more of my books. There are 103 of them out at the moment, so you won't be running out of reading material any time soon.

Becoming a writer is a little more complicated than just a few tips, D. It's important to be a creative person with a lot of stories to tell. And preparation is a tough job. You have to write, and I mean a lot -- journals, letters, short stories, even just descriptive paragraphs. Every day. That helps you develop a skill with the use of language. Your prose will read more fluently if it's written more fluently. You also have to read a lot, just to develop a style by finding an existing style that you admire and want to incorporate into your work.

Mostly, you should have something you want to say, a story you feel you're dying to tell the world. Writers are all like that. It takes almost nothing to start us scribbling! And if you're that kind of person, and you have a story you want to tell, write it down. You'll soon know that it's hard work, but if you like it, and if the story works, you'll be a writer!
