    Lucy

    dear Gordon Korman,

hello! My name is Lucy and I read your book Linked. I really liked how in each chapter I got to see how each character reacted to the swastika appearing in their school. I also liked how Link did not tell that he painted the first swastika because it left an un-expected twist to the end of the novel. What is your favourite book that you have made? What inspired you to make this book?

    Hi, Lucy,

I'm glad to hear that LINKED made a hit with you. Thanks for writing to tell me so. I appreciate hearing from my readers.

I honestly have no favorite among my books. Having said that, I admit that I'm very proud of RESTART, which is a huge success and has been on the New York Times Bestseller List for almost 4 years! And I'm really proud of my Book #100, titled THE FORT. But, then, I'm proud of all my work, and I hope you'll plan to read on.

What inspired me to write LINKED? Writers don't really require what you call "inspiration," Lucy. We write because we have something to say, a story to tell. LINKED came from a lot of thinking, plotting, and having something I wanted to say. That's all it takes to start us scribbling!

OK? Thanks again, Lucy.                                                                          -----Gordon Korman-----
