Well, Hi, Ms. Dorio & Class! Thanks so much for all those letters. I'll try to get to everyone.

TYLER, HARPER, & LUKE, I'm glad you like the "different viewpoints" technique. I use it because I feel it gives the story a well-rounded feeling.  SHAYA, your 2 suggestions are good ones, but I always prefer to use my own ideas.  BEN, if I had anything to do with making you like books, I'm very happy!  DAVID, I've written a lot of sports stuff, so I'll probably get around to soccer one of these years.  SARAH & OWEN am I going to publish more? Yes. But you should know that there are already 103 books of mine out there, so you won't be running out of reading material any time soon!  AVERY, I have a book called SLACKER, but it's not exactly the same idea as yours. I hope you'll read it. Laughs guaranteed! ALEX, my ideas come from plain old thinking and plotting -- no big mystery; it's just work.  KAI, I started publishing when I was 12, in 7th grade, with  a story I wrote in order not to flunk 7th grade English. I've been writing ever since.  ALEXANDER, I try to keep my characters roughly the same age as my prospective readers.  KAYLIN & LAYLA want to know why my main characters are boys. Basically, it's because I happen to be one, and I find it easier to write about one.  MILES & MATTHEW, I've written 103+ books, and I don't think there's an injury in every one of them. But I write realistic fiction. And, realistically, injuries happen.  RORY, go to THE BOOKS section of my website and take your pick. If you liked SCHOOLED and RESTART, you'll probably enjoy SLUGFEST and THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT.  SAMMY, if you want an older character, try THE UNTEACHABLES. But I don't write horror, nor do Ieven read it.

OK? Thanks, people. I hope I haven't forgotten anybody. Thanks again for writing to me. Happy reading!
