Hi Gordon! I'm a public librarian, and I run the Elora Branch of the Wellington County Library. In the 10 years that I have run this branch, I have ordered (and re-ordered) your amazing MacDonald Hall series 2 times! Staff love these books and suggest them so often that the books wear out - and now we have heard that book 1 in this series is out of print and cannot be reordered for our collection!! The horror!! What can we do? Who can we write to?

I know! And the other 6 in the series will soon be out of print as well! The reason is the recent public attitude towards Sir. John A. Macdonald. Apparently, he is in historical disgrace, which I think is a serious crock! But that's the way things are unfolding in these so-called modern times!

You might complain to Scholastic Canada, 175 Hillmount Road, Markham, Ontario, L6C 1Z7. (Tell them Gord sent you.)

Sorry about this. The series opener is over 40 years old, but ...

I just read Macdonald Hall, it's really good, too bad it's out of print.

I was lucky enough to find a copy of the book on my library's shelves.

You could read the book as an E-book still though probably.

Thanks, Ethan. I don't know if you realize it, but you just read my 7th grade English project. I wrote it for school. It was my very first book, at age 12.

It's a 7-book series, all of them on hold at the moment, I think. I believe they'll be released again in the future -- the first one is headed for its 50th anniversary in a few years, if you can believe such a thing! --GK--
