    Hello!

I'm a children's/young adult bookseller and I am currently working on a display where I showcase some of my customers favorite authors own favorite books/authors when they were younger (elementary/middle/high school)! I was wondering if you had a few so I would be able to add to my display! Thank you so much for your time!

    Hi, Noelle,

    Thanks for thinking of me.

The books I loved best as a pre-teen were the series by John D. Fitzgerald, called THE GREAT BRAIN.

Later on, I graduated to THE HITCHHIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY series

... and finished off my high school career with a slavish addiction to anything by Kurt Vonnegut, especially THESIRENS OF TITAN and SLAUGHTERHOUSE-5.

I hope that makes my choices part of your display.

I'm assuming The Great Brain was an inspiration for No Coins Please?

    Hi, Asher,

He might have been, come to think of it. I was always partial to the smart*ss type of kid. But most of them are more like the guy from SLACKER, Cameron Boxer, who thinks he's being so smart, and ends up messing up his whole existence and pretty much everyone else's. Self-portrait? I hope not!                                                                                                                                 --G--
