JadeBeing a full-time author, working on writing books for many hours every day. What’s your favorite part of work? Can be literally anything!

Personally, I used to despise plotting so when I had most of everything down, I could begin the actual writing. On average, do you think that you spend more time in the outlining or the writing phase? Have you ever considered sharing one of these story outlines?
Oh, and has it always been this way? Since you were twelve, you wrote every word down? Or did you one day decide that “huh, maybe I should write this down?” Epic!

I definitely spend more time on the writing phase. The planning now is usually in a version of personal shorthand that only I can decipher. Any story outline would be incomprehensible to anyone else.
When I was 12, I wrote nothing down. My Mom took all the notes, and even took dictation and did the typing on a genuine typewriter. A university English major, she was also there to tell me when my words were not quite grammatical, which wasn't too often. But it was nice to be already edited once before handing in my work to an editor.
As you can see, I had it good. I was kind of spoiled rotten. --G--

That makes me think. How many authors spend more time on planning than writing? Personally, writing is the fun part. Your personal shorthand makes a lot of sense. My school notes are a bit like that. They're in English, Spanish, and have all sorts of abbreviations and weird symbols. Your mom sounds like an absolute W. Your #1 fan from the beginning, even before you started your journey!
By the way, sorry I haven't been on Twitter. My account was hacked and Twitter won't give it back, so that's a shame.
Yeah, you were kind of spoiled. That's so cool! Honestly, that sounds like another story of a mom going above and beyond to support her kid, helping them reach the stars, and that's only one story! I think it's really awesome how your parents are so supportive. Look at you! You've blown way past the stars! You've got to be your parents' biggest flex, especially as an only child.
