AnHave you noticed that there is a theme that there is an accident, the characters in your books break the rules and is somehow different from other people?
Example:
Donovan Curtis, an average student at Hardcastle Middle School who is accidentally sent to an academy for gifted kids.Capricorn "Cap" Anderson raised in an isolated hippie commune who is sent to live with foster parents and attend public school following his grandmother's accident.
Chase, an 8th grade star athlete who falls off a roof, hits his head, and loses all memory of his previous life.
Is this intentional? Like this your writing formula? Do you think there's anything that pulled you to these themes?

Everything has to be about something, right?
Yes, it's intentional. I think it's everybody's "formula." It's the event, or incident, that creates the story. e.g. In SLUGFEST, the main character runs afoul of a new school rule and, through no fault of hios own, has to go to summer school. It's a technique, and it's not. As I said before, every story has to be about something. It's up to the author to make that something interesting.
I don't think any particular thing drew me to this type of writing, other than a desire to tell a story with a certain amount of action and/or tension.
