Free excuse to see family and eat! Growing up, is there a Canadian version of this? Yeah, October 13th! 10 days before your birthday! Do y’all still do it?

    Can your family cook well?

    Be blessed,

    Jade

    Happy Thanksgiving!

The second Monday in Oct. is always Canadian Thanksgiving, mostly because if we wait for the 4th Thursday in November, we're usually up to our ears in snow, and no one can go anywhere.

My Mom is a good cook, but has been cooling it lately - health problems. And I have one aunt in Montreal who thinks she's a great cook, and who really is NOT.

I hear a heck of a lot of people had major arguments along with their turkey this year, because of the election. What a waste of energy when it's only going to last 4 years!

Favorite dessert - good old pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream!                                                                 ---G---

That's cool how Thanksgiving is not a set day, but a certain day of the week for both Canada and the US. And wow, that's a whole lot of snow. It's only snowed where I live once in my life, and it only snowed one to four inches. I don't know, but it wasn't a whole lot. Enough to play outside!

Hope your mom feels better! You're lucky you've been raised by a woman who knows her way around a good meal! My mom doesn't like cooking, but she's going to let me try soon. Have you learned any recipes from her?

Just wondering where your aunt got the idea, LOL! That made me laugh out loud when I read that. I hope that one day, she will learn how to cook very well--but if she thinks she's a good cook in her heart, then good for her! Maybe she is an excellent cook, and your family just doesn't know what y'all are talking about. Totally possible!

Yes, there have been a lot of arguments. Which doesn't make any sort of sense... the election's over! That's something I'm grateful for, the results being in before all the families get together. I feel bad for all the families that argued it up. That's no fun at all, and probably spoiled a good dinner and family get-together for a lot of people. And we've got the same idea! It's just four years. It takes half that to get a lot of bills and rules passed anyways. No matter how it goes, the term is short, so there's no need to tear apart families for something like that! Also, it's not serious enough to come between the love families have for each other. We're all in this together!

And that is a good dessert! You always ought to put something on top of pumpkin pie. Whipped cream, ice cream. Hot pie or cold pie? I like peach cobbler and Publix cookies.

    Be blessed,

    Jade

Me? Learn a recipe? It is to laugh!

Your pronouncement on how nothing should come between families and the love they have for each other should be mandatory reading, and even skywriting!

Anyway, that's another Thanksgiving in the books. It was great to have #2 son home from school for the long weekend.

Hope all is well with you and yours.                                                                                                ---G---
