Dear Gordon Korman

I love your book Ungifted. I'm 10 and in my gifted class we haven't finished your book yet, but so far I love it. It has action, humor, and math.And I can relate to Donovan (Just kidding).I really liked the part where Donovan is surprised about his mouse moving without him controlling it. Why did you choose the name Donovan, and are you a fan of The Wizard of Oz?

Thanks for your message. I'm pleased to see that UNGIFTED is making a hit with you. I wonder if your gifted class is anything like the one Donovan snuck into! I never know why the name of a character appeals to me so much that I use it in a story. I just know that the name of my character has to feel right to me. I'm not sure that even makes sense, but it's true. As for THE WIZARD OF OZ, I love the movie, and usually watch it around Christmastime every year.
