Dear Mr Korman,

My name is Jaxon Patch I go to Steamboat Springs Middle School my 6th grade class is working on a project where we research an author and then mimic their writing I chose you as my author and I have a few questions for you.
1. Are you friends with other authors and if so who are they?
2. Why did you choose this profession of writing?
3. Out of all the books you've written what's your personal favorite?

Thanks for posting. I'll try to answer your questions.

1. I have a lot of author friends. To name just a few: James Ponti, Peter Lerangis, Stuart Gibbs, Christina Soontornvat, and Rick Riordan.

2. This profession actually chose me! I was 12, in 7th grade, when I wrote my first book, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. I wasn't trying to be an author, I was just trying to pass 7th grade English. My work became so popular that I sent it to a publisher. That was over 40 years ago, and I've been writing ever since. The next book to come out will be #105.

3. Choosing my favorite book is like choosing my favorite among my 3 kids. It can't be done. But I do have a soft spot in my heart for my Book #100, THE FORT.

The publishing of Your achievement of publishing your first book at the age of 12 is truly inspiring. It shows that I and any of my classmates could also publish a book if we dedicate enough time and effort to it.

Hey, so i really liked the Mastermind series and the book Faker and the book Fort. I was wondering, ive been having a tough time finding a good book written by you that is almost the same type of book. Like the same adventure and mystery and thrill.

I understand how hard it is to move on to something new when you're really "into" a book or series. But I have 105 books on my list -- so go to the BOOKS section of this website, and take your pick. There's a lot of mystery-adventure, and maybe you'd enjoy some comic relief, like with SLACKER and LEVEL 13 or FAKER. Laughs, and even some suspense guaranteed!

I hope you can find something that will excite you the way MASTERMINDS seems to have done. Happy reading!
