NicholeMr. Korman,
I am the librarian at Eagleton College and Career Academy. Our 6th grade enjoyed our virtual author visit with you yesterday. You answered so many of our questions, but there are a few we were hoping you would be so kind to answer.
We discussed what determination and drive it must take to write so many books. What motivates/drives you to keep writing, especially after writing so many books already?
Do you have a favorite book that you have written or one you enjoyed writing the most? Why?
Do you have a book you thought would be a best seller and it ended up not being that popular?
Thank you,
ECCA 6th Grade

Your questions:
I'm not really sure what drives me to write so much, given that I have quite a list already. Obviously, it's partly because I chose this profession and I've been doing well at it for a long time. But I think the real reason is that I have so many stories to tell, and Im not finished yet!
I generally enjoy the writing process, but I really got into book #100, THE FORT. And the MATERMINDS trilogy was plain fun in parts too.
I thought MAXX COMEDY, which I wrote back in 2003, was going to tickle a few more funnybones, because it was about a stand-up comedian. But it was a disappointment and never really went anywhere. Hey, it happens.
OK? Thanks again, people. -----Gordon Korman-----
