My dad grew up in Taiwan in the 1980s and 90s, and got most of your older books from a floating bookstore that would dock in Taipei every few months. One of his favorite memories from that time was when you visited his middle school in Taipei in person. The Bruno and Boots series, Our Man Weston, and I Want to Go Home were his favorites back then, and after moving back to the U.S. and having kids, he introduced them to us. I remember him reading I Want to Go Home to us next to the fireplace while all of us (including him) could barely breathe from laughing. After I learned how to read, we read them all again to ourselves, sometimes staying up late into the night, and laughed just as hard.

I'm now twenty-five, I've been an English teacher in a small village in Austria since last year, and I've realized that your books are not only the perfect books for American and Canadian teensthey're also great tools to make Austrian kids love English! We read I Want to Go Home in 7th grade, and Our Man Weston in 8th grade, with various activities I designed to go along with them. Multiple students came to me and said that Our Man Weston was one of their favorite books ever, and the 7th graders even made their own movie trailers for I Want to Go Home, most of which were really excellent. I'm so glad to be able to use books that mean so much to me to make the English language seem fun for my students. Thank you so much for writing books that have continued to make kids laugh out loud for three generations (across three countries) and counting.

    Hi, George,

I can't tell you how pleased I am to receive your letter! Three generations and three countries! (Also the book I'm working on now will be #108. Can you imagine that?) It's so great to hear that titles like I WANT TO GO HOME and OUR MAN WESTON are still making the rounds! I'm delighted to hear that they're also making a hit with the kids.

Thanks so much for your letter! You brightened a tough day!

                                                       Kindest regards,                                              -----Gordon Korman-----
