I keep going back and forth on if I want to be an author or just focus on something else but then when I sit down to make a book I can only get so far and every time my pacing seems too fast for my liking and seeing as you're my favorite author right before some James Patterson and James Dashner books might as well ask someone who is clearly good at creating and thinking of book ideas aka you so yea also really liked Operation Do-Over liked the time travel twist of it.

    Hi, HidingBookLord,

    VERY stylish pen name!

Thanks for posting. It sounds like you aren't planning in enough detail. When you know EXACTLY what you're trying to say, the pacing won't be rushed. I think you're probably doing what most beginning writers do -- coming up with the germ of an idea, and starting to write it down too soon for it to develop into a real story with a beginning, a middle, a build-up,  a climax, and a finish. Planning is everything.

Good luck. The great thing about writing is that you can become something else, and also do some writing in your spare time. So you don't really have to choose right from the start.

    Hi again, Dawson,

The books ends when your story has revealed the culprit. It can't come as a surprise at the very end. Your story, if it's a murder mystery, has to build up to the ending, which is the solution to the crime.

You can use brands in your book, but it's safer and easier to make up brand names.
