Hi! I was wondering how you came up with your book restart?

Your question: I got the idea for RESTART the same way I get most of my ideas -- through a lot of thinking and plotting, and with a desire to write on the topic of "second chances." That's how Chase Ambrose came to be.

There have been a few feature films made of my books -- 3 in the Macdonald Hall series, 1 of SWINDLE. And therewas a multi-year series on the Diney Channel based on my series THE MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL CLUB.

A lot of the books have been optioned for film, but the movie ultimately didn't get made. There is a film company right now that has a film option on RESTART, so you may see that one one day. Let's keep a good thought about that one!

Good afternoon,

I just finsihed reading Restart to my 5th grade class and they loved it! Such great characters and lessons. I had also just finished reading Slugfest so I was so surprised when reading the part in Restart where Brendan is going to film a viral video called Slugfest! Did writing this part of the book in Restart give you the idea for Slugfest or was it just a term you liked? Thanks so much, and I know you gained at least 21 fans from CT!

Your question: With the release of OLD SCHOOL a week or so ago, my booklist totals 105 titles. (That sounds wild, even to me!) RESTART ws written in 2016. In those 9 years, I think I managed to forget that I used the name "Slugfest" in RESTART. I lose track of a lot of things that my readers ferret out and write to me about. I guess the name SLUGFEST is one of them.
