    Dear  Gordon Korman ,

I liked the book Restart because it was very  interesting. I liked that each chapter it changed which person was narrating it. My favorite character is the little girl. She seems fun to hang out with.My favorite part of the book was when they took the video of the guy riding a tricycle in the car wash. That part was funny.two questions I have for you is What was your favorite book that you wrote and how long did it take you to write the book?

    Sincerely,

    Mallory A

    Hi, Mallory,

Thanks for posting.I'm glad you enjoyed RESTART. I've written a lot of books,so I hope you'll plan to read on.

Your questions: I have no real favorites among my books, butI'm usually the most "into" the newer ones. I have a brand-new book out just a few days called OLD SCHOOL, and I guess you could call it my current "favorite." And most of my books take within 5 or 6 months to complete after the original planning sessions, which can be as long as 3 more months. I believe in a lot of planning so that I know where I'm going when I start the actual writing.

OK? Thanks again, Mallory!                                                                              -----Gordon Korman-----

Semester in the Life of a Garbage Bag  is the funniest book I have ever read.  Once, reading it aloud to my children, I had to stop to catch my breath.  I love all the characters, especially Grandpa.  They are so human - not a mean bone among them.  It would make a fabulous movie - imagine the special effects with SACGEN, and the surfing scene in the cafeteria.  The manufactured "poetry" is truly inspiring.  Thanks for many happy hours.

    Hi,Susan,

Your letter definitely made my day! I wrote "Semester" back in 1986-87, when  I was a green lad of 24, and the fact that someone is still getting a hoot out of it today is wonderful in the extreme!

I've got a booklist that now numbers 105 titles, so I hope you'll want to read on. Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to reach out.                                                                                                            -----Gordo Korman-----
