Restart Literature CircleDear Mr. Korman,
We are five readers and one teacher in a Literature Circle who can't wait for Wednesdays because we are enjoying reading Restart so much. We are up to Chapter 16. We were wondering if you based this story on something that happened to you? Do you know anyone who actually had amnesia?
Thanks for writing such fabulous books!
PS Brendan is hilarious! From, Naya
PPS This is the first book I have read of yours but I am looking forward to reading more in the future. From, Emily
PPPS Where do you get the characters' names from? From, Sofia
PPPPS I love Restart. How did you think of Chase falling off of the roof? From, Eliana
PPPPPS I can't even imagine Chase being mean because he is now so kind and sweet. From, Rikki

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that your Wednesdays have become a big thing because of RESTART! That's good news for me!
Naya, you said it! Brendan was needed for comedy relief in the story, which was pretty grim in places.
Emily, you won't run out of reading material for a long time. My list is now 105 titles long!
Sofia, names are relatively easy. Everybody gets one in this world. I'm fussy about names, mind you. It has to feel "right" before I'll hang a name on a character. I'm not sure how that works, but I recognize it when I see it.
Eliana, I needed a major accident, butI didn't want him killed. I also needed him (SPOILER ALERT!)to have a vision of the painting in the house across the way as he fell.
Rikki, that was the restart -- a mean kid restarting his life. The book was about second chances.
OK? Thanks, ladies. Happy reading. -----Gordon Korman-----
