Dear Mr. Korman,

I just finished all the 39 clues series and am surprised why it isn’t more popular. I believe that there is a way to ‘revive’ the series. The creators of the 39 clues series could announce that the would be a fan fiction contest with people putting entries for one chapter in one week, and there would be a winner and that chapter would be published. Then the cycle would continue for all the chapters. This would make kids read all of the series and make the series popular again. Once all the chapters are complete the book would get published.

Agreed. THE 39 CLUES is an amazing series. I was really pleased to have been included in the cast of authors working on it. And I have to tell you it was enormously popular when it first came out! But its time of release was around 2010, so its day is kind of over. I'm glad you got a good look at it.

The fan fiction is a super idea -- until you get a look at some fan fiction. It's not practical, I'm afraid. e.g. what do you do if the material you receive is not really publishable? But I'd love to see the series revived.

To answer your question, in my original post I said there would be a contest and the winner’s work would get published, so only the best fan fiction chapter would get published.
