Hey Mr. Korman,

I'm a newer elementary school (major career change after 20 years in another industry). I just wanted to let you know I really, enjoy your books. While these are great books for middle/older children, I know plenty of adults really enjoy them, as well. I started reading your books to my now 12 year old son about 4 years ago and have carried on to reading them to my classroom. Masterminds sparked a very long discussion in my classroom about the ethics of cloning people, which made me a bit nervous that I would receive a few emails from unhappy parents, but that conversation provoked some of the deepest thinking I've witnessed from fourth graders.  Your books have had an impact on the kids at my school and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your work. It really has a positive affect on kids. 

I do have a series of questions for you, if you don't mind.

1) Have any of your books been made into movies? if so which one(s)? Are there any in the works?

2) Which books are your personal favorites? Do you have a specific process you go through when writing a book? what was your favorite book to write? Also, I'm looking for a recommendation for the next books to read. I've read restart, unteachables, ungifted, supergifted, slacker, Operation Do-Over, the Masterminds trilogy, schooled and Faker)

3) Do you do virtual interviews for classrooms? If so, how does that work?

I don't know what your previous career was, but you seem to have moved very smoothly into this new one! Thanks for your message, and your support for my books.

Your questions:

1. 3 of the Macdonald Hall/Bruno & Boots series have been made into movies. Plus Disney Channel has done several years of a show called THE JERSEY, based on my MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL CLUB series. And Nickelodeon made a movie of SWINDLE, which has been on TV for several years now. There are a lot of items that are under contract with film companies at the moment, including RESTART, but it's too soon to tell if there are any movies coming up.

2. Personal favorites? That's like asking me the fav amng my 3 kids! Seriously, I'm very proud of MASTERMINDS. And I'm fond of THE FORT, which was my 100th effort. Otherwise, my current "favorite" is always the newest release.  Watch for HYPERGIFTED, due out in Jan. of 2026 -- I note you've read the other 2 in the series. And your 4th graders might enjoy THE HYPNOTISTS, also a 3-book series.
