Wynne D.Hi! How are you doing? I have a question. In the book "Old School" at the end why did Leo have to die?

Good question. Leo didn't HAVE to die. I chose to have him die as a part of Dexter's growing up process. The story of Leo and Dex came to a climactic ending when Dex discovered the room where the codebreakers had worked during the war. It was just the natural outcome of a relationship between a 12-year-old boy and a man of 99. -----Gordon Korman-----
