Every year, our school does a 32-book "Book Madness" tournament where each of our 4th and 5th grade classes gets a set of all 32 books, and after several weeks to read and learn about the books, students vote on each matchup. I am writing to you because Old School has made it to the final matchup. Along the way, Old School defeated The Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman, No Purchase Necessary, and The Enigma Girls. For the final matchup, Old School will be going up against both Away and The Last Dragon on Mars (they tied 68-68 in final four voting, so we decided to let them both through in hopes of getting more kids to read).

The other teachers and I thought it would be fun if the final authors sent us a message (written or video) hyping their book to the kids. Sure, this may influence the vote a little, but the ultimate goal is to get more kids reading. I recognize that this may be a big ask, but I know that a message from you would be huge for our students. Old School is really popular with the kids, and hearing from you would be so exciting.
