Dear Gordon Korman,

I have read two of your books, those books being Restart and Son of the Mob. In this letter I’m going to talk about Son of the Mob because that is my favorite of the two. When I was reading Son of the Mob I wasn't able to put it down. I loved how it was full of action, I always wanted to know what happened next. What made you decide to make a book about the son of a mob boss? Did you have inspiration from something in particular?

Although Vince wasn’t a perfect person, he was still an amazingly written character. If I had to read about anyone's life, it would probably be his. I loved how you used the dialogue and how all the conversations felt like they actually happened. If someone told me that this book was a biography, I honestly wouldn't be too skeptical.

Although my father isn't a mob boss, I still found Vince relatable in certain situations. For example, sometimes he would tell lies on top of lies and it's digging himself a bigger hole, and the only way he could get out of it was telling the truth. I have definitely found myself in similar situations, minus all the criminal activity, and seeing how Vince has handled it made me learn real life lessons.

Your writing style is so entertaining when reading. When did you know you wanted to be an author or what sparked that interest? What was your favorite book you have written and why? Like I've said before, your characters are so real written that I have learned lessons from them even though they are fictional characters! Now that\'s how you know you've written a good book.

Your books have influenced how I look at reading, and how I solve problems that arise. I am definitely going to read more of your books because I loved every book I've already read. I hope you keep writing for as you can!

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that SON OF THE MOB made such a big hit with you. I hope you can find HOLLYWOOD HUSTLE, which is the sequel, and that it has the same effect on you.

I've written 105 books, most of which are still available, so if it's my stuff you're after, you won't be running out of reading material any time soon.

Your questions: I honestly have no true favorite, but I am the proudest of my 100th book, THE FORT. And I'm pretty pleased with the way the 3 MASTERMINDS books turned out too.
