Hey, Mr. Korman.
I was just getting back to you on something that I had previously talked to you about. You gave us the permission to be able to make a movie, but not produce it. I was wondering if we could get in on a video call with you to talk about the movie and the book with some of our main actors. Thank you so much. Just let me know if you can and when you can. If not that's totally fine.

Hi, Parker,

What I said was that you can make your movie, but not sell it or display it anywhere for profit. That eliminates You Tube. The book (and I don't quite recall which book we were discussing) may well be under contract with a film company, and that would be breaking the law. I assumed, and stll assume, that you're making the movie for your own amusement, because that's all it would ever be allowed to be.

I'd be happy to communicate with your actors, etc., but via this forum, please. I'm usually working to a deadline, and can't spare the time.                                                                                    -----Gordon Korman-----

Thank you so much for getting back to me this forum is amazing. I am so sorry and yes we are making it for our own amusement. It is your first book in the masterminds trilogy, and we were wondering if there were some tips you could give us for when we are acting the characters (especially the main characters). The actors should remember that the kids are very smart, but raised strictly in a place that was, by design,  super-serene and happy. Still, they followed type: Malik was a little rough around the edges, and so was Amber -- brash and brave. Eli was brainy and quiet, and so was Tori. If the actors are familiar with the series, I would let them interpret as they read the characters. And if you happen to be the diretor and find one of your actors a bit jarring, be brave and say so.
