Hello, I'm a student at Helen fort middle school and I'm doing a project about the author of the book I'm reading which is, "The unteachables." I was wondering if you could tell me about your hobbies and interests during your childhood, and how you described yourself during your childhood so I can get more information. Also you respond I get extra credit on my project.

Thanks for posting and for choosing me as your subject author.

I started professionally at age 12 with my 7th grade English project, a book I called BRUNO AND BOOTS, which was later published as THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. That was 40+ years ago, and I've been writing ever since. The list will number 106 titles with the July 1st publication of SNOOP.

As a kid, I was into hockey a lot and reading only a little. My Mom read me a Kurt Vonnegut book called THE SIRENS OF TITAN, which started me reading. I was a solid student in school, but never a superstar. My favorite sport is NFL football - NY Giants season ticket holder. I have 3 kids, ages 20, 23, and 26, boy-girl-boy. And a wife, of course, their Mom.

I'm proud of my work. My most successful book to date has been RESTART, which has been on the New York Times Bestseller List for over 4 years.
