    Mr. Korman,

I am a big fan of your work. You are my favorite author. You make the best books ever read. You write the books perfectly, in such an amazing way, that you want to read the books every second of your life. And I just want to ask if, possibly, you would come to my school sometime to talk about your books and what it feels like to be an author. If not, I understand. But I would enjoy meeting my favorite author, and I think others would, too.

    Best regards, Lorelai

    Hi, Lorelai,

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that my books are making such a big hit with you. I hope to continue writing material that wll please and amuse you.

Re: your invitation. I visit a lot of schools and libraries, but the invitation has to be official -- from your Principal or PTA. There are expenses involved, e.g. you don't mention where you are located, but I work out of New York. Your school can get in touch with my office if they're interested:     Info@gordonkorman.com

I thank you so much for responding. That means the world to me. And, yes, I will try to get in contact with my school to try to convince them to allow you to come. But, if I may ask, other than Snoop, what is your latest idea for a book?

    Hi,

I enjoy your books, and I'm writing one of my own. I looked up that you published your first at 14. And I'm about that age. And I'm just wondering, how did you get that book published? Did people like it? Did you ever think it would lead you to become an author? I am really hoping that my book can get published and read. Also, I think it's really cool how you got to publish a book at such a young age!

                                             Have a great day,

    Hi, Adalyn.

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy my books.

Your questions: I wrote what turned into my first book as a 7th grade English assignment. My Mom helped me type it in proper manuscript fashion and send it to the only children's publisher I knew, which was the Canadian branch of Scholastic Ltd. They liked it, published it, and was an instant bestseller! It did NOT turn me into an author -- with that published book, I already was one! That was almost 50 years ago, and the book that came out just today, July 1st, is my 106th book. I feel very happy and very lucky, and I wish you the same kind of success that brought me to this point.

                                            Kindest regards,                                                     -----Gordon Korman-----

    Hi again, Adalyn,

I honestly have no favorites among my books. I like them all -- well, most of them anyway. I'm proudest, I think, of the MASTERMINDS series, and I have a soft spot in my heart for RESTART, which sells a ton and has been on the NYT bestseller list for over 4 years!, and THE FORT, which was my Book #100. And, when I think about it, the most recent release, SNOOP, which has managed to stay on the New York Times bestseller List for the 2 weeks of its existence.

Again, good luck with your book!                                                                                     ---GK---
