XiomaraHi. I started reading your books a few months ago and maybe a year and read most of them. I have been wondering if you can ever come to California near Solano County. And I have a question: Why are the main characters always boys? Byeeeee.

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased that you've started reading and enjoying some of my books. Most of them? I don't think so. With the July 1st release of SNOOP, my booklist now numbers 106 titles. That sounds like a lot, even to me!
Your questions: I guess my main characters are usually boys because I happen to be one, and I feel more comfortable writing about the male point of view. As for coming to California, I'm not sure exactly where Solano County is located. I visit southern California pretty regularly, touring schools and libraries, so I hope we'll meet one of these days.
Thanks again, Xiomara. -----Gordon Korman-----

So, I happen to be a huge fan of yours and a young aspiring author, and am inspired by the fact that you were able to get a book published as a high school student. I have some questions about the craft of writing itself, and with over 100 books, and many critically acclaimed titles, I am sure that you can help. Firstly: How are you able to create compelling and believable teenage characters who grow so much? Secondly, I am working on a mystery, and I want to know: How are you able to introduce clues and make them all tie together?
I realize that you have a lot on your plate, and I\'m sorry to bother you, but I have been trying to refine my technique to try and better my book before I send it out into the world, and author-given answers have been a tremendous help.
One last note: Why did The Fort end the way it did? I realize that not all stories can have happy endings, but still, WHY.
A well-wisher. Excited for Book 200! You\'ve already done amazing work, can\'t wait to see what\'s next.
