you may notice when reading Gordon Korman books that there are some similarities between them. some of these may be because G.K. liked the idea of a character or premise, but I think most of them are due to the fact that they are common tropes in literature in general.

Ferguson 'Peachfuzz' / Noah Youkilis - 'nerds' who tend to take figures of speech too seriously
Daphne Leibowitz / Kaylee Novak - obsessed with community service for some random thing (beaver/pond)
Mike Otis / 'Iceman' - 'nobodies' made famous
Capricorn Andersen / Dexter Foreman - the premise of both books is kinda similar, kid raised in unusual circumstances foes to public school
Melody Boxer / Arianna aka Areona aka Aryana - behind the internet alt with a punny name that's trolling her older brother
Jeff+Wiley+Cassandra / Mason+Ty+Ava - crazy love triangle

Cooper Vega's phone / 'The Windmill' aka SACGEN - piece of junk
