Hi Mr. Korman,

 

Just wanted to drop a quick note saying just how much my 10 year-old daughter and I enjoy reading your books -- especially the series books.   My daughter actually did a 4th grade report on you and spoke about how your "beware the FISH" book was such a hit.  so, we had to find it.   We live in Massachusetts -- and apparently there is only 1 library that has 1 copy of the book -- so when it was overdue (because she was away at sleepaway camp), my local librarian actually CALLED ME to see if we could get it back to the library for the next person who wanted to read "beware, the FISH."  We had to do a marathon session when she returned from camp and read through dinner and into bedtime and then i drove to the library that night to return it!

 

2 questions --

1)  would you ever "re-publish" this series (Macdonald Hall series) -- since i can't seem to get my hands on the rest of the books in this series?

2)  what does my 5th grade daughter have to do in order to see if you'd ever come to her elementary school and tell all the kids how you got into writing and why you like it so much and how you have figured out to understand the mind of the late elementary school/middle school kid?  i think it would be fascinating to hear you share your story -- if that's a thing you do -- she goes to Manchester Memorial Elementary School in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.

 

Last comment -- as a parent, I thank you for writing such fun books to read to my daughter.  one night, we were reading the ON THE RUN series, we were on the "stowaway solution" book -- and she fell asleep, but i stayed in her room, with a book light, and kept reading another 20 or 30 pages (i could not put your book down) -- SO FUN!!  Thanks for all that you do.

Thanks for posting and for your support for my books. With the publication of the newewst, SNOOP, my list now numbers 106! That sounds like a lot, even to me!

BEWARE THE FISH was part of the 7-book Macdonald Hall series, which is really quite old. The first one, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL, was written some 48 years ago, when I was 12, a 7th-grader. I'v been at it ever since. The series has been published and republished many times, and is probably going to be released again as the 50th anniversary of the first one comes up in a couple of years.
