Hi there, 

My name is Aidan.  I am 16 years old, from Vermont.  I enjoy your work and have been a fan of yours since reading 'Restart' in sixth grade. 

I have now written several realistic fiction short stories of my own and was wondering if you would be open to reading one of them (it's approximately 800 words in length).

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that my books have been going over well with you.

Re: your request. Aidan, I'm sorry, but I've had to make it my policy not to read other people's work. I get so many requests that I would wind up doing everyone's work but my own. I hope you understand.

My advice would be to find someone you really, really trust -- an aunt, grandparent, special teacher, sibling -- and ask for an honest opinion of your work. Another possibility is to bundle up a collection of your short stories and actually send them with a covering letter to a publishing company. But perhaps you'd be wiser to get your honest opinion first.
